$5 after 5 pm
Mondays in June, July, and August
Tracy Aviary is open late every Monday, June through August! From 5 to 8 pm, admission is reduced to only $5 per person. Visit our beautiful birds, enjoy educational adventures, meet some amazing birds up close and personal (and their keepers, too), and explore the 8 acres of gardens, exhibits, and playspaces.
Liberty Park Bird Walks
Wednesday mornings, 8 am to 9:30 am
Join Tracy Aviary for birding walks through Liberty Park every Wednesday morning! These walks are at an ideal time of morning, and are ideally priced at FREE! Our staff will teach you about the species we have right here in our own back yard, including those who stop over in Salt Lake City on their long migration through the Americas, and those who call Salt Lake home year round. Bring binoculars if you have them, or take a peek through ours to learn about the wonderful world of birding.
$1 Admission on Pioneer Day
Liberty Park is the end of Salt Lake City’s Pioneer Day parade, and the perfect spot for watching the fireworks show at night! Come hang out at Tracy Aviary during the day to take in the activities and exhibits, see our fantastic Eggsmasher presentation, and try out our Sense-ational Stream Exploration! Admission is only $1 per person all day during our normal business hours (9 am to 5 pm), and as always, kids 2 and under are free.
International Owl Awareness Day
Did you know there’s actually an International Owl Awareness Day? That’s right, vultures aren’t the only ones who get a day all to themselves! IOAD is August 4th, and we are celebrating in true owl fashion, after normal business hours. Monday, August 4th, is another one of our $5 after 5 nights where we are open until 8 pm. We’re celebrating owls from 5-8 pm with crafts, activities, and a special extended keeper talk in Owl Forest. Bring your little owlets and learn about owls from all across the globe and as near as your own back yard.
It’s Teachers Week at Tracy Aviary! All educators with a valid teacher ID get free admission this week for themselves and their immediate family. Come experience our fantastic programming on adaptations, habitats, wetlands, what makes birds unique. Learn how to enhance your curriculum, and see how our birds can help you teach!
Singing with the Birds
Second Sunday of each month, June through September
12 – 2 pm
Something new and exciting is coming to Tracy Aviary. Singing with the Birds, our second-Sunday music series, sponsored by KRCL, brings in local musicians to spend Sunday afternoons singing with the birds! Join us Sunday, July 13th, for Paul Rasmussen, and Doug Wintch with Anke Summerhill! These summer concerts are free with admission — which means Tracy Aviary members, as always, get in free, and KRCL members receive 2-for-1 admission with their KRCL member card.
Avian Adventure Summer Camps
Monday through Friday, June through August
Tracy Aviary’s Avian Adventure Summer Camps start June 9th! These camps are open to children in Kindergarten through 5th grade, and run in half-day, week-long sessions in both the morning and afternoon to allow you to customize your camper’s experience.
These camps are all just as educational as they are fun and exciting, enabling your camper to explore and play in the company of their favorite birds and engage in their own personal interests. From art to experiments to zoo keeping, we are sure your child will find something they love! Click here for more information and to register now!
