Tours and Field Trips

Staff–Guided Tours and Programs

Enhance your group’s next visit to Tracy Aviary with a staff-guided program or tour! We are proud to offer schools, community groups and other organizations a range tours and presentations led by our resident bird experts.

Tours are limited to 25 participants per group. Simultaneous tours may be available for larger groups. Staff-guided experiences are scheduled based upon staff availability and should be booked 2-4 weeks in advance. Tours and programs typically run 45-60 minutes in duration, depending upon the topic and program chosen.

Available Tours

General Aviary Tour
Allow our Aviary tour guides to select an array of their favorite Aviary birds to explore with your group during their visit.

ABCs of Birds Preschool Tour
Learn your ABCs with Tracy Aviary’s beautiful exhibit collection and an expert guide to lead the way. After discovering the first three letters of the alphabet with our birds, we will wrap up with a special activity for your early learners.

Adaptations and Habitats Tour (4th Grade Science Core Correlated)
Allow our expert guides to teach you all about Utah’s unique habitats and the ways in which birds survive in them.

Living Aviary Tour (3rd Grade Science Core Correlated)
How do animals depend on the living and non-living things in their habitats? Learn how each of the birds we visit connects to their surroundings.

Inherited Survival Tour (5th Grade Science Core Correlated)
Birds are some of the best survivalists around! Learn how inherited traits passed from parents to offspring, and the tiny changes that happen along the way, allow birds to better survive in their environments.

Conservation Tour
Tracy Aviary features many species of endangered birds with unique conservation stories. Join one of our bird experts to meet these special birds, and learn how humans can help or hinder their survival.

Custom Tours
Can’t find a tour to suit your needs? We are able to build tours to address a wide variety of topics for any group, from native birding to neotropical migration stories. Contact our Bird Programs staff at education@tracyaviary.org or 801-596-8500 x116 for more information.

Booking a Tour or Program

To book a staff-guided tour or program please submit a request with our Guided Tour/Program Request Form. A staff member will contact you back promptly regarding your experience.

Pricing

Guided Tours
The cost is in addition to admission fee.
Available Tours: $1.50 per participant, minimum tour fee $30.
Custom tours: $2 per participant, minimum tour fee $50.
(Discount admission available for groups of 10 or more.)

On-Site Programs
Admission plus $1.50 per participant, minimum $50.

Field Trip Scholarships

Due to generous grants provided to Tracy Aviary by Rio Tinto and the Michael Foundation, a limited number of field trip scholarships are currently available to visiting school groups. The scholarship covers the cost of admission and a single program fee for each of your students and adults. For more information, please contact the Bird Programs staff.
