Our Education Mission

Through the presentation of avian species, Tracy Aviary Bird Programs encourages curiosity about and connectivity to the natural world with an aim to inspiring lifelong environmental stewardship. 

Education Cleverly Disguised as Fun

Our Bird Programs department offers hands on, engaging programming for all ages, Pre-K through seniors. Programs are available both at Tracy Aviary and as outreach programs at your location. Our bird experts are waiting to guide you or your group on a fun and exciting adventure into the world of birds.

We emphasize interactive, interdisciplinary presentations and activities that allow participants to witness live birds up-close, and encourage curiosity and wonder of our natural surroundings. Our birds are handled by professional training staff to be comfortable around both children and large groups. Many of our outreach programs are correlated to Utah State Core Curriculum standards, resulting in grade-level appropriate programs built to offer children opportunities to connect more deeply with the environment and its diverse residents.

Why Birds?

There are no living creatures as ever-present, diverse, colorful, and intriguing as birds. Their migrations link us to far-away lands. Their unique features unveil subtle connections between form and function, habit and habitat. Found on every continent, their extraordinary survival tactics teach perseverance and the value of adaptation. Birds are a perfect link between us and nature. Because life stimulates curiosity and learning, what better way to open the windows to understanding our roles within the environment than exploring the lives of these complex creatures?
