Boy Scout Birding Merit Badge Workshop
Join us for a half-day full of rewarding adventure and the beginning of endless fun! Become a skilled birder alongside our expert staff by learning to identify birds not only by sight but also by sound. You will explore the Aviary and nearby Liberty Park to meet birds both native and exotic, while discovering tricks and tools of the trade for observing birds up close.
Our certified Boy Scout instructors will guide Scouts toward meeting all requirements for the Bird Study Merit Badge, developing life skills along the way. To name a few: proper use of binoculars, choosing and using field guides, recognizing bird “field marks,” and above all learning to be thoughtful stewards of our wild places.

Pricing
Fee includes all workshop materials and day admission to Tracy Aviary.
$15 per Scout
In the event we do not enroll our minimum of eight scouts, the workshop will be cancelled.
Cancellation Policy: In the event that your child cannot attend the workshop, a 75% refund will be given provided that you give Tracy Aviary at least one week notice prior to the start date of the workshop your child is registered for. A refund will not be given if cancellation is made less than one week prior to workshop. If Tracy Aviary must cancel a workshop, registrants will be notified no less than the Monday before the workshop and will be granted either a full refund or the option to enroll in a later workshop.
Private Groups
Private sessions of our Boy Scout Birding Badge workshop are available for scheduling, depending on staff availability.
Price: $120 for up to 8 scouts, $15 for each additional scout. No scout minimum.
